From a very young age, I have always had a strong love for animals. Growing up I have been blessed with many memories of the happiness and pleasure animals give to me and from a young age, my heart has been set on working with animals.

Now that I have completed my college education and my foundation degree I can start to live my dream of working with animals. In November 2017 I will graduate from my foundation degree in 'Animal behaviour and psychology'. This degree has given me knowledge in animal behaviour, psychology and animal training. From this knowledge, I am aware of the theory behind animal training, behaviour and psychology and I am aware how to implement this theory when working with a range of different animals. When working with animals I believe in using the methods of positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement is when something positive is added to a situation in order for the desired behaviour to be repeated.

I am fortunate enough to be able to own a range of pets. Currently, we have;

4 dogs

3 rabbits

1 pony

4 quail

1 bearded dragon

We also keep birds of prey ranging from a kestrel, owls and a Harris hawk.

Dogs:

Bracken and Murphy are our English springer spaniels. Bracken is our eldest dog who is currently 12. Murphy is his son who is currently 10. Both dogs are worked within the shooting season on a local shoot.

Louis is our rescue long haired jack russel that we have now had for 3 years. Since having Louis he has developed hugely socially and physically from once being in a rather poor state.

Woody has recently turned 1. He is a German wired haired pointer crossed with an English springer spaniel. We hope that once Woody has been trained he will be joining Bracken and Murphy on the shoot.

Pony:

Roxie is our pony that we have now owned for around 4 years. Roxie is an Appaloosa and has recently returned to work. Next year we hope that she will make some appearances in the show ring.
